Flu Season Alert
The symptoms of Influenza appear suddenly and last longer than the average cold.
Symptoms often include:
Fever of 100F (37.8C) to 106F (41.1C). Fever is usually continuous, but may come and go. Fever may be lower in older adults than in children and younger adults.
Chills and shaking.
Body aches and muscle pain (often severe), commonly in the back, arms, or legs.
Headache.
Pain when you move your eyes.
Fatigue, a general feeling of sickness, and a loss of appetite.
A dry cough, runny nose, and a dry or sore throat.
Preventions for Flu and Colds:
Stay out of crowds when possible.
Do not touch your nose, eyes, or mouth with your hands.
Discard or disinfect toothbrushes.
Use disposable drinking cups.
Throw tissues away after a single use.
Get adequate sleep, eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly.
Wash your hands often.
Take a flu shot as soon as vaccine is available.
Avoid people who are sick.
